Scheduled AC servicing that keeps units running efficiently and air quality clean, especially through Doha heat.
An air conditioner in Doha runs for eight or nine months of the year, often continuously, through outdoor temperatures well above 45 degrees in high summer. On top of that it is pulling in some of the dustiest air in the region. Filters and coils that a manual tells you to clean once a year simply do not survive a Doha summer on that schedule.
Most of the AC problems we are called out for are not faults at all. They are a clogged filter, a silted-up drain line or a coil that has not been washed in two years, and all three show up as weak cooling, water on the ceiling or a smell every time the unit starts. Home Fix Doha Qatar services split units, ducted systems and fan coil units in villas, apartments and offices across Doha.
Shamal winds, construction dust and the general dust load in Doha clog a filter far faster than in most climates. Through peak summer a residential filter often needs cleaning every four to six weeks rather than once a season, and a clogged filter is the single most common reason a unit stops cooling properly.
Before paying for a refrigerant top-up it is worth checking airflow. A dirty filter, a fouled evaporator coil or a condenser packed with dust will throttle a perfectly healthy system. We check the cheap causes first and tell you if the gas really is low.
Nine times out of ten this is a blocked condensate drain rather than a leak. Dust mixes with condensation into a sludge that silts up the drain pan and line until water backs up and finds the ceiling instead. Flushing the line clears it; leaving it stains the gypsum.
A coil that stays wet in humid air while coated in dust grows microbial film across the fins and the blower wheel. That is what you smell in the first minute after start-up. Air freshener does nothing for it; a proper coil and blower clean does.
Weak cooling, dripping water, noise, a smell or a unit tripping the breaker each point to different causes, so describe what you are seeing before the visit.
We check filters, coils, drain lines, the blower, electrical connections and refrigerant pressure rather than guessing the fault from the symptom.
Routine servicing is done on the spot. If a part or a gas top-up is needed, we explain the cost before going ahead.
We run the unit, check the cooling and the drain, and tell you honestly how often your particular units need attention.
Most AC work sold in Doha is either a cheap filter wipe or an expensive gas refill, and neither one is a service. A real service means opening the unit, washing the coil, cleaning the blower wheel and clearing the drain. That is the part that takes time, and it is the part that actually restores cooling.
We also cover the electrical and plumbing side of AC problems: an isolator that keeps tripping, a drain line that needs rerouting, a ceiling damaged after an overflow. That means one visit and one point of contact instead of three trades blaming each other.
We take AC cleaning and maintenance work across Doha and the surrounding areas, including Al Sadd, Bin Mahmoud, Al Muntazah, Old Airport, Najma, Al Waab, Ain Khaled, Al Gharrafa, Duhail, Madinat Khalifa, West Bay, The Pearl, Lusail, Msheireb, Al Rayyan, Umm Salal and Al Wakrah. If your area is not on the list, send us your location on WhatsApp and we will confirm before booking.
For most homes a full service twice a year is sensible, with one of them before summer starts. Filters need attention far more often, roughly monthly through the hot months, and we will show you how to rinse them yourself between visits.
A routine service on a split unit takes around 45 minutes to an hour per unit. A deep clean, where the coil and blower wheel are washed properly, takes longer and is usually booked as a job in its own right.
A restricted, dirty system runs longer to reach the same temperature, so cleaning it normally cuts running time. We would not promise a specific percentage, but poor airflow is a real and avoidable cost across a Doha summer.
Yes, and we check pressure as part of a service. A system that needs gas every year has a leak, though, and we would rather find the leak than keep refilling it for you.
Yes. Even where the building manages the chilled water plant, the fan coil unit inside your flat has its own filter, coil, blower and drain. Those are your responsibility and they are the usual source of weak cooling or a smell.
Yes. Ducted systems need the filters, return air grilles and drain checked, and the ducting itself inspected if there has been building work in the property.
March and April. Once the heat arrives everyone books at once, and breakdown call-outs take priority over routine servicing.
